10 Tips for Staying Safe Online:

  1. Trust your instincts about people you meet online, if someone makes you feel uncomfortable or something doesn’t seem right - talk to friends or trusted people.
  2. Know how to report and block people on TEAMS and in the games you are playing. Learn how to do this on any platform as soon as you start using it.
  3. Don’t give out personal information to people you don’t know.
  4. Keep the chat in the games you play, so you can report problems. Don’t give out your phone number or other contact details.
  5. Don’t get scammed, or swap or share anything you wouldn’t want to lose. Never give out your bank or card details.
  6. Don’t share photos of yourself. You’ll have no control over how or where they’re used.
  7. Create strong passwords, from mixtures of words - and DO NOT share them.
  8. Treat others with respect and kindness. Play fair and support each other to have the best gaming experience.
  9. Give yourself good breaks from gaming. If you’re tired, rage-quitting or not enjoying yourself, it’s probably time for a break.
  10. Be yourself and let other people be themselves too.
